A Spooky Cultural Exchange

The intersection of creativity and tradition has long added a mystical dimension to theatre, as well as generating a wealth of beliefs and superstitions. From the ancient Greek amphitheaters to the bustling Broadway stages of today, times have changed, but what hasn’t changed is that actors and actresses have always observed a variety of customs designed to ward off bad luck and seek inspiration.

Two actors stand on stage in dramatic lighting. The man on the left, wearing a green knit sweater, looks thoughtful with his hand resting on his chest. The woman on the right, dressed in a burnt orange dress with flowing sleeves, gazes upward with an expression of wonder or hope. Both are bathed in warm light, standing against a dark background.

Are you ready for war? Henry IV, Parts I & II, presented by The Porters of Hellsgate opens this weekend! Also, Tuesdays@9 is at The Hobgoblin this week, and we've got some big events coming soon!

The image features a person wearing a white jacket with a relaxed expression, standing behind a table with several bottles and a glass. Bright blue stage lights illuminate the scene, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Large, bold text in bright pink reads "FALSTAFF," while smaller white and gray text indicates "henry iv part i" and "the porters of hellsgate." The overall design suggests a lively, modern production of Shakespeare's play Henry IV Part 1, with a focus on the character of Falstaff.

The image depicts a confident woman standing outdoors in front of a brick wall painted with a faded, stylized American flag. She is wearing a yellow blazer over a white button-up shirt and blue jeans, with her hands in her pockets. The woman is looking directly at the camera, exuding a composed and strong demeanor. The backdrop suggests an urban setting with muted tones contrasting the bright yellow jacket.

This week, the Hobgoblin finds out What The Constitution Means to Me, while at the Madnani, it's almost time for the War of the Roses, and somewhere, Greg is mixing up fake blood for Frosty Fest!

This image appears to depict a set design for a stage production. The backdrop is styled as a veterans' hall with the banner reading "American Legion Post 10, Wenatchee, Washington." Several framed photographs of military figures are arranged on the wall, and there are U.S. and Washington state flags on display. A wooden podium with the U.S. Legion emblem stands prominently in the foreground, with two empty chairs placed on either side, creating a formal, institutional atmosphere. The setup suggests that this scene could be part of a performance involving themes related to veterans, American history, or constitutional rights.
