This week, What The Constitution Means to Me continues its incredibly popular run, while at the Madnani Naked Angels tell stories Tuesdays at 9.

We’re proud to introduce you to our Fall 2024 interns, Jess and Nicole! They’re both international students from China attending Emerson College’s Los Angeles Program with career aspirations in the entertainment industry. They’ll be helping us out with our social media for the next few weeks. We’re excited to have them here!

The intersection of creativity and tradition has long added a mystical dimension to theatre, as well as generating a wealth of beliefs and superstitions. From the ancient Greek amphitheaters to the bustling Broadway stages of today, times have changed, but what hasn’t changed is that actors and actresses have always observed a variety of customs designed to ward off bad luck and seek inspiration.

It’s a detail so ubiquitous that most people never think twice about it. But why red? What’s the story behind this color choice? As it turns out, the decision to make theater seats red isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s steeped in history, practicality, and even a bit of psychology.

Marking the end of an era of over twenty years, where it has hosted hundreds of critically acclaimed, award-winning and fan favorite shows, legendary theater space studio/stage officially turns off the lights on April 30.

The StageCrafts is thrilled to welcome their very first intern to the team! Lorelei Barcelos (she/her) is currently a senior at Emerson College, pursuing a BFA in Theatre and Performance.
